Summer on the Deck

The wonderful thing about Summer is the riot of colors it brings along. The flowers are in full bloom. The yellow swallowtail butterflies are here, hovering over our out of control butterfly bush.

The fruits and vegetable plants seem to be coping well, in spite of the infrequent waterings that they seem to be getting this year. The cherry tomato plant is trying its level best to reach for the sky...it was supposed to grow into a bush!

The strawberry plant is a little sad thanks to the steady onslaught of bugs and the neighborhood squirrels who have been helping themselves to all our strawberries.

Luckily, they don't seem to like the tomatoes and the peppers very much, leaving us with a modest harvest every now and then.

Nice. You are lucky. At my cousin's house the rabbits are eating all the peppers as well.
